MMD2123 Project Proposal

Introduction: An interactive edutainment game whereby a user will need to deliver food supplies and clothes to the orang asli in Temiar Settlement as a token of appreciation for visiting them.

Objectives: To give a virtual experience of getting to Temiar Settlement, Pos Chiong, Tasik Banding, Gerik and to give an awareness of the geographical location, ecology and culture there.

Target Audience: Teenagers and young adults.

User Task: To navigate the area using a virtual kayak towards the destination which is Temiar settlement in Pos Chiong based on the map given to deliver the food and clothes and learn about their culture in return.

Detail Description: User begins by choosing the desired kayak, paddle, and Personal Floating Device (PFD). The goal is to navigate through the lake by kayaking towards the destination, which is the Temiar Settlement, to deliver the supplies and to be able to learn their culture. The supplies will be put in the dry bag which will be strapped on the kayak. The map is divided into 4 pieces, each one is placed at a certain checkpoint. User begins the journey with the first piece of the map towards the first checkpoint, where there will be an obstacle. Each time they pass the obstacle, the new piece of map will be given, which will bring them closer and closer to the destination. Every checkpoint has a different obstacle, such as boats trafficking, water ripples that can cause the kayak to capsize, passing by area with a lot of dead tree barks, and aggressive fishes like Toman.
